The Directors of the South Australian Mining Association having kindly leased for a term of 99 years, at a pepper-corn rent, an acre of land In this township,[Kooringa] for the uses of the Church of England, steps are now being taken for the erection thereon of a good substantial schoolroom, to answer also, temporarily, the purpose of a church, towards which your Committee have voted a sum equal to one-eighth of its estimated cost. Mr Quinlan, a gentleman of some experience in tuition, having been appointed schoolmaster at Kooringa, your Committee have pledged the Society to a grant of £25 in aid of his salary for the first year, in addition to a vote of £5 to meet expenses incidental to the settlement of himself and family In that township.
